7.15.06 Memphis Wrestling TV Report
----Jimmy Hart and Cory Maclin open the show. The show is live today. Maclin had Hart
promise that he will ref the match between him/Koko tonight “right down the middle”.
Video interview of Koko at Southaven Arena waiting on Maclin for tonight. Maclin also let
everyone know he had something for Koko behind a black curtain. He would reveal later
the surprise.
----Bill Dundee interview. He comes out to Hillbilly music?? Dundee does another great
interview!! After a ref bump, Dundee uses a chain to beat Hillbilly Jethro. Nate The Rat
came out to count the pin. Kevin White then ran out for the save on Jethro. White then
did a good interview.
----Mr. America interview – Derrick King comes out and slaps America. America chases
King away.
---- “Wild & Crazy Clowns” with Rashad beat Tatt2/Drew Donavon. Heat on Donavon
with hot tag to Tatt2. Tatt2 looked real good here. “Clowns” win when one of the clowns
throws fake water [confetti] on the ref, then uses the bucket [when the ref is trying to get
the deadly confetti out of his eyes] on Tatt2 for the pin. I could spend a whole page on
the “Clowns” gimmick. Picture a really cheap looking clown suit with a scary rubber mask
clown. I am not kidding here. It was horrible. The guys doing the gimmick were good
workers, but this gimmick is horrible. This is bad when they can’t push teams like
“Picture Perfect” or single wrestlers like Dustin Starr, but have this crap on TV. BTW, if
anyone knows send me info on who the "clowns" were under the gimmick??
---- All tickets are $10 for “Fan Appreciation Night” in Southaven, MS tonight. “Clowns”
vs Tatt2/Jethro; JR Title Match: King vs America; Special Challenge: Kevin White vs
Dundee; Kamala with Jimmy Hart vs Robert Gibson [listed as mystery opponent last
week]; Southern Tag Team Title Match: “Too Kool 2” [Tim Grind/Flex] vs Rikishi/Brian
Christopher; Final Confirmation – Strap Match – Koko vs Maclin [Jimmy Hart/Nate the Rat
are special refs] and Main Event – 2 Ring Triple Chance Battle Royal – Winner To Get
Brand New 2007 Truck. They always promote this and I forget to tell it, but the first 600
fans in tonight will get a free combo meal – chips/20 ounce Coke/hot dog. BTW, if you
have to pay for that combo, it is only $3. You can’t get a 20 oz Coke for $3 in most major
cities.
----Next were clips from last week with Koko vs Maclin angles. As I said last week, the
Maclin interview that ended the show last week [in these clips] was top notch.
----“Too Cool 2” [Tim Grind/Flex] came out for an interview. This was an unusually bad
interview from Grind. “Rock n Roll Express” video aired to promote Robert Gibson.
Everyone knows that Gibson has had a huge long term feud with Kimala. LOL
Gibson/Brickhouse Brown then did an interview?? Why???
----Rikishi comes out and gets in the ring. Marks are going crazy!! Grind/Flex come out
and say they want to dance with him. They all three start dancing, but Rikishi jumps
them from behind and almost puts the stink face on both of them. Good build up for
this. Rikishi also referred to himself as “Kishi” and had that on his tights. I guess he is
doing that to keep from getting sued.
----Koko video again with him live at the Southaven Arena. Koko tells Cory he is going to
hang him tonight. Koko kept calling him “black child”. He also kept saying he was going
to win the battle royal also. Lots of crazy mumbling. LOL
----Cory ends the show with his surprise, which was an ambulance promising that
someone is going to be sent out in the stretcher tonight. Koko [who was just faking he
was at Southaven] then jumps Cory – they do a pull a part brawl with the whole dressing
room coming out. Crowd was chanting “Cory, Cory!!” as the show went off.
FINAL NOTES: Good build up for the show tonight….Most of the show though Cory and
Hart were on different pages and seem to be confused….Kishi looked lighter [as in color]
than usual. Guessing he is not tanning??...Dundee keeps on being so good on the mic.
I look for his bout with White to just be a brawl. Should be good….I look for American vs
King to be the best actual wrestling match tonight and probably the tag bout with Kishi
being the most entertaining…As much as the build up is good for Koko vs Cory, please
be warned – they have horrible matches!!!...Angle at the end with ambulance was good.
I just cracked up when Cory said, “AmBUlance” – only the way he can say it.
